Description
I’ve always been interested in folklore and mythology, the oldest cultures have the most interesting stories, one of those cultures is the Egyptian. And this ancient civilization still has unsolved mysteries, don’t you think it’s interesting?
This Egypt Beetle set is inspired by my love for the egyptian mythology.
🏺🦂🐊🐫
Beetles were an amulet of life and power in the ancient egyptian mythology, which represented the rising Sun, and were a symbol of resurrection in Egyptian mythology. In life they provided protection against evil, visible or invisible, daily giving strength and power.
In ancient Egyptian religion, the god Ra is seen to roll the sun across the sky each day, transforming bodies and souls. Beetles of the family Scarabaeidae roll dung into a ball. Because of its symbolically similar action, the scarab was seen as a reflection the heavenly cycle, and as representing the idea of rebirth or regeneration. The Egyptian god Khepri, Ra as the rising sun, was often depicted as a scarab beetle or as a scarab beetle-headed man. The ancient Egyptians believed that Khepri renewed the sun every day, before rolling it above the horizon, then carried it through the other world after sunset, only to renew it again on the next day.
In this set the clip-on earrings are for pierced ears and the necklace is a short one, a choker made with beige velvet. Both of them have iridiscent color tones, that will change their color depending on the sunlight. They can look blue, turquoise, violet or even green.
